In 2001, Maurisa Alexis Lewis founded Bay Area Cleaning Pros while working as a paralegal in corporate America. Her goal was simple: to be more present in her daughter’s life while still earning an income. By starting the business, she could attend PTA meetings and school events while balancing part-time work as a paralegal and selling insurance.
Nine years later, when Maurisa had her second daughter, the cleaning business allowed her to continue being an active, involved mom. After her youngest graduated high school and went off to college, Maurisa returned to the corporate world, but Bay Area Cleaning Pros remained her passion.
The business has grown to focus on helping busy families, working moms, and seniors who need extra help maintaining their homes. Maurisa is especially proud of the work her team has done for cancer patients and others with chronic illnesses, providing free cleaning services to ease their burden during difficult times through partnerships like Pre to Post Treansplant Foundation She was also part of an organization called Cleaning for a Reason for several years.
